A Merlin Helicopter visits Conifers!
As part of our commitment to providing rich, diverse learning experiences that truly capture our children's imaginations, the school was delighted to welcome a Royal Navy Merlin Helicopter to land in our school field during our annual ‘Careers Day’.
This extraordinary opportunity perfectly aligns with our school vision of ensuring every child flourishes and reaches their full potential. As well as simply being a super exciting opportunity to get up close and personal with a helicopter, we also hope that it inspires and motivates children to pursue their goals and dreams, provides a real-world connection to careers in the Armed Forces and aviation, creates an unforgettable learning experience that embodies our commitment to Learning Outside the Classroom and supports our children's social and emotional development, through awe and wonder
The helicopter crew were so accommodating and along with demonstrating the aircraft, explained their individual roles, shared their career journeys and inspired our children, happily answered questions from curious young minds and provided insights into the benefits of working together as a team.
This visit joins our traditional Careers Day line-up, when children are invited to attend school dressed in what they hope to be, when they grow up, which features the Emergency Services (Police, Ambulance, and Fire Service) alongside representatives from various trades and professions - all of whom graciously surrender their own time and work together with like-minded people from our community, to spark our children's imaginations.
Celebrating Our Learning Charter
This experience perfectly demonstrates our Learning Charter in action - encouraging our children to Listen, Engage, Ask questions, Respond and Never giving up as they explore potential future pathways.
I am incredibly proud that we can offer such remarkable opportunities to our children and support our community's aspirations.
I’d like to personally thank all of our visitors today, many of whom are parents of children in the school, for their continued support at events such as these and making Conifers Primary a place where every child has the opportunity to flourish.

If you’re trying to find the best online casino New Zealand players can actually trust, it really helps to use a guide that focuses specifically on NZ-friendly platforms. I came across https://casinoslots.co.nz/best-online-casino-new-zealand and found it super helpful — they list casinos that support NZD, offer local payment methods, and actually care about fast payouts and fair play. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of choosing where to play, especially with so many options out there now. Definitely worth a look if you want a safe and smooth gaming experience.
