Years one to six enjoyed an afternoon of orienteering across the school grounds. The children competed in mixed teams against other houses. The points were added up and averaged out. Unfortunately, due to the social distancing rules, we never had the assembly to award the house sports cup to.... Gryphon! Well done to everyone. A huge thank you to the sport leaders who ran the whole competition!
The first House Competition Afternoon took place at the end of last half term. It was a great success, with all the children able to contribute to earning points for their House Team. Each team was instructed to work on building a “Guy” The four finalist “Guys” are currently being displayed in the hall. The winning “Guy “ was the Gryphon’s effort- complete with realistic beard!
It was Conifers House Competition afternoon on Friday 14th December. The children really got into the swing of Christmas by designing a prototype sleigh for Santa. Modifications included an elf magnet for when the elf inevitably falls over the side of the sleigh, a hot chocolate maker, a super duper control panel, booster power, candy cane storage compartments and the list goes on. The winning team was Pegasus (the blue team)....
Years 1 to 6 enjoyed an afternoon of sporting skills in their houses on Friday as they battled it out to win the house cup. The sport leaders run the afternoon, rating each team on the school games values: teamwork, honesty, determination and respect. The children enjoyed participating in 6 skills stations of football, rugby, hockey, tennis, cricket and basketball.
Our thanks to Miss Frampton who has organised the last two house afternoons where the children had the opportunity to take part in an inter - house orienteering competition. The children really enjoyed taking part in the competition, learning about orienteering and looking at some of the Winter Olympic Games. The winning team in the orienteering competition was Gryphon, so well done to the children in Gryphon House!
