Y5 Learn About The Planets

Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed taking their learning outside the classroom and into the school hall, where they reinforced their understanding of the order of the planets, how quickly each one orbits the Sun, and the unique climate of every planet — with Mercury being the hottest and Neptune the coldest. The children especially loved creating their own rhymes to remember the planetary order, as well as researching fascinating facts about their chosen planet. Working in pairs allowed them to develop both their oracy and collaborative skills while deepening their scientific knowledge. A fantastic learning experience — Miss Anthony.
