Dear Parents

Conifers operates a hot meals service. The price for a school lunch is £2.20 per meal. We organise meal orders in 3 week blocks.  Please contact the school office for further details regarding the ordering of meals.

We work closely with the Local Authority and Cygnet to offer hot meals at the school.  Cygnet has a great deal of experience and an excellent reputation in providing hot, nutritious meals to schools  without fully equipped kitchens, such as ours, and we are delighted to be able to offer their service to your children.  The menus all conform to Government food and nutritional standards and we do hope that you will agree to your child(ren) having hot meals at lunchtime.

Orders for hot school meals must be placed at least a week in advance, together with payment, unless you are entitled and registered to receive free school meals. Order forms must still be completed for those children currently receiving Free School Meals. If you believe you may be eligible but are not registered for free school meals, please contact the school office who will advise you on what action you need to take.  The Local Authority is able to grant free school meals to children whose parents receive any of the following:

·          Income Support

·          Child Tax Credit, provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual taxable income as assessed by the Inland Revenue which does not exceed their limits

·          Income based Job-Seekers Allowance

·          Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit

·          Support under Part V1 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

Payment must be received by 9 a.m. on the Monday of each week, as detailed below, or your child will not be booked in on the following week. You do not have to order a meal for every day of the week; it is possible to order a meal for as many or as few days as you wish.

• You MUST complete and cut out the order slip (s) relating to the week(s) you are paying for. Payment must be made with your order.
• If a payment is received without a menu selection attached, then that child will be entered with the main choice selection.
• All payments must be given to your child’s class teacher at registration first thing on Monday morning, in a sealed envelope marked with the child’s name, class and the week the payment is for. Please note your child will not be given a meal without payment.
• If you are ordering for individual days at £2.20 per day these also have to be ordered a week in advance on the above dates
• If your child is absent the money  CANNOT be refunded for the meals that have already been booked
