Year 2 Bake Bread Rolls

Year 2 have been focusing on instructional writing this week where they have been giving verbal instructions to each other, reading and understanding instructions (recipes) and identifying the key features within the genre.

Today the children were VERY excited because they had the opportunity to follow a recipe, and as a result, they managed to bake bread rolls.

Once their bread had cooled down, the children evaluated their bread by focusing on the appearance, smell and taste of their rolls.

Tomorrow the children will use their knowledge from today to write their own recipe using imperative verbs and time conjunctions.
